Hi! I’m an astronomer with a recently-minted PhD at UNC Chapel Hill on the science team of Evryscope, a UNC project led by Dr. Nicholas Law (PI). You can check out my Research, Teaching, Curriculum Vitae, or About pages here!
I currently lead the EvryFlare Survey collaboration, which investigates the habitability of rocky planets orbiting nearby flare stars. The survey has detected over 500 large stellar flares from hundreds of nearby K and M dwarf stars, including a superflare from Proxima Centauri. I am Principle Investigator of the NASA TESS Guest Investigator Program 3174, “Multi-Wavelength Superflares And Planetary Habitability.” My publications are available on ADS, here.
I may be contacted by email at wshoward [at] unc dot edu.
